First Amendment rights are not unlimited

Public Vs. Private School

Public schools have more freedom than private schools.


Tinker VS. Des Monies (1969)

Ruled in favor of Tinker as long as it does not have unlawful speech and have physically disrupted speech.

The Fraser Standard

Bethel School District VS. Fraser

Ruled more for the school because it goes against what the school is trying to teach.


The Frederick Standard

Rights are different form on school ground and off school grounds.


Libel: Publication of a false statement of fact that seriously harms someones reputation.


Truth/The catch


Knowing something is true and proving it's true can be two different things.
